Q:Strong enough to pry railroad tie type wood used in landscaping?

1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hi AddieMac, even though this pry bar is heavy duty, it will probably not give you the leverage/length needed. We recommend searching here for STANLEY wrecking bar also known as crow bar.

It broke within 30 minutes of purchase. It appears to be cast, not forged. I was using it normally and according to the illustration on the product label.

I am replacing windows and this wonder bar has been instrumental in removing the trim and framing nails, opening packaging crates, and centering the windows during installation. Small enough to fit in tight corners but strong enough to do the job. Great quality at a reasonable price.

I bought this for tear out of a bathroom, since my other bar was in a different location. It was very hard to use for some reason, I could not even get between two boards to pry them apart. I noticed after trying, the ends were not beveled enough, in other words dull. I went to get my 10 year old pry bar that has never been filed and it works like a charm. I could grind it but then why should I, it should be ready yo use from the store. I am returning this since I thought Stanley made quality tools, think again.
