About This Product

Pugster Amethyst Butterfly Bush from Proven Winners has full sized blooms on a compact bush. It blooms non-stop from early summer through frost with amethyst-toned flowers, each with a tiny yellow-orange eye in the center. Answer This Question

A:  Hi there- thanks for asking! You could make a short hedge with these butterfly bushes as they are a compact bush, but can get taller if left unpruned. The butterflies love these as well! Please reach out to our team at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com with any other questions!

      Q:Can i.plant this soon as I get this July 6th ??

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Trudy - Great question! Your plants have already been acclimated to the outdoors and will be happiest in the ground as soon as possible. There is no need to wait to get your hands dirty! Planting early in the mornings or late in the evenings when the air tends to be cooler and the sun less intense. Try to avoid the midday sun, which is the hottest and highest in the sky. Water, water, water! Water before you plant, soaking the soil in the pot. Water during planting by filling the hole with water a time or two prior to putting the plant in the ground. The goal is to get the soil around the plant’s roots and beyond super hydrated. Then, loosen the soil around the plant, put the plant into the hole as standard, and water it well one last time. Be sure to deeply water daily and consistently for the first week (sometimes longer- your plants will tell you!) to make sure the heat of the summer does not deter it from establishing its healthy, glorious roots. As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any questions or concerns. You can email us at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com or chat with us online! We are happy to help! ~ Cori

Sad on arrival but making a comeback
I ordered three of these and they were very bedraggled and sad when they arrived. I wasn’t sure they would live, but all three have bounced back and have grown leaves in the last month since being planted. No flowers yet, but just having foliage is an accomplishment at this point. They look like they will flourish now.

I planted it after our last frost. It is in the ground but is dead. I bought another butterfly bush product and it is also dead. I would love a refund since they were both expensive. I can send photos if you need them.
