Q:What are these made of and are they coated (galvanized)? I don't want to risk them making a rust stain years down the road if the trim gets too much moisture over time.

Answer This Question

A:  These are bright, not galvanized so I guess it may rush over time. How long before that happen, we do not know.

by|Feb 10, 2023

A:  These pin nails are for interior use and not galvanized.

Q:Will the work in porter cable PIN 138?
      by|Dec 13, 2022

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, it should work in that nailer which takes 23 gauge nails. The only issue would be that that if you have really hard wood, the longer the nail, the more likely it is to bend as it goes in. Use the shortest nail that will do the job

      by|Dec 17, 2022

A:  Yes. The Porter Cable PIN 138 uses 23 gage pin nails from 5/8” to 1 3/8” long. This box of 1” long 23 gage pins work fine in my gun. Just check your air pressure and some sample wood of what you will be nailing to check that the top of the pin is below flush to the wood surface.

Q:Can you use 18 gauge nails with this nailer?

          Answer This Question

A:  No, you can’t not use different gauge. You have to use the same gauge as the nailer/airstrike gauge

          by|Jan 29, 2021

A:  What nailer do you have? And what gauge nailer is it?

          by|May 26, 2022

A:  Bob, with what nailer? These are pin nails and are specifically designed to fit a pin nail gun. A pin nail gun is not the same as a finish or brad gun (all three are different sizes). These pin nails will only work in a pin nail gun. These pin nails will work in different brands of pin nail guns as long as the gun is designed for 23 ga.(most if not all are). https://www.homedepot.com/p/Porter-Cable-23-Gauge-1-3-8-in-Pin-Nailer-PIN138/202213592

          Answer This Question

A:  Nooooo. Brad nailer uses 18 gauge. This is for pin nailer only.

          by|Dec 31, 2019

A:  No. Those are for a pin nailer only. A brad nailed uses 18 gauge.

            by|Dec 31, 2019

A:  Yes, I use them in mine, works great.

              by|Apr 14, 2020

A:  These pins will not work with the Ryobi Airstrike. The Airstrike is an 18 guage brad nailer. These are 23 guage pins.

              by|Aug 3, 2020

A:  Yes I have the Ryobi pin nailer these nails work just fine did not have any issues I would recommend

These 1” pins are excellent to pin small detailed trim moulding to other moulding to create larger pieces without splitting or nailing through before installing, no jambs in the nailer either.

Headless pin nails are great because there is little need for caulk and paint after you use them.

Use these pin nails to hold together small pieces while the glue dries and to give just a touch more support to picture frames, they work well for both. Was a little concerned buying these for my Ryobi 18v ONE plus AirStrike pin nailer, but they work great with it. I bought multiple sizes and so far none of them have let me down. Drive all the way in and does not damage the wood.
