Displaced Texans Treated to Kids Workshop at Hotel

September 22, 2017

As the Houston community begins the long road to recovery after catastrophic flooding, many families are still taking refuge in shelters and hotels until it’s safe to return home.

One Home Depot associate found a way to lighten the mood – by treating the families at an area hotel to an impromptu Kids Workshop.

Nakia Crowder, an associate from a Dallas-area store, organized a full-fledged workshop in the hotel lobby for children to have fun learning to build pencil boxes. Even Homer, the Home Depot’s mascot, stopped by to brighten the day.
